Continuing Gigi's Legacy in Caregiving
The first experience for Myla Geronimo Christian as a caregiver was decades ago, but it seemed like yesterday. Myla had gone home to the Philippines to help take care of her aunt. It was her first main experience in home care services.
After she came back to the U.S., her older sister Gigi started a caregiving business. With knowledge in nursing, Myla helped Gigi and found her passion in caring for others with illness and injuries. Then in only a few years, Gigi was diagnosed with Cancer. Myla helped take care of Gigi, which deepened her understanding of the important role of caregivers.
After Gigi battled cancer and lost, Myla felt her passion shift to continuing Gigi’s legacy in providing home care as an entrepreneur. Gigi was a great influence, had an amazing business sense, and built a reputation with her beautiful laugh and loving kindness. Myla still wanted to work with seniors and ill and disabled adults, so she took what she learned, along with the passion Gigi instilled in her, and after five years of living in Adrian, Michigan Myla started Gigi’s Legacy Homecare LLC.
Following in Gigi’s footsteps, Myla affiliated Gigi’s Legacy Homecare LLC as a member of The Senior’s Choice. Through membership, she and her caregivers receive extensive training, including becoming Certified Companion Aides (CCA®) and Certified Hospice Companion Aide (CHCA®), along with having access to many resources. The CCA® and CHCA® programs are exclusive training programs specially designed for companion caregivers, covering the best standards and practices available in companion care. The programs help Gigi’s Legacy Homecare ensure that they are providing the most professional and reliable caregivers.
With our headquarters in Michigan, Gigi’s Legacy Homecare is a member of the Adrian Area Chamber of Commerce. We operate in both Michigan and Georgia.
In Michigan, we serve Lenawee County and surrounding Areas, including cities of Adrian, Hillsdale, Jackson, Monroe, and Tecumseh.
In Georgia, we serve areas east of Atlanta, including DeKalb County, Gwinnett County, Barrow County, Butts County, Morgan County, Green County, Oconee County, Jasper County, Newton County, Walton County, Rockdale County, Henry County and Clayton County.
